Volkswagen Group Polska and all production plants of the Volkswagen concern in Poland are powered exclusively by electricity from renewable sources.
The energy is provided by POLENERGIA S.A. Energy to the car manufacturing site in Poznan as well as to the distribution network – Volkswagen Group Polska. The agreement also covers: Volkswagen Motor Polska (Polkowice), SITECH (Polkowice, Głogów), Scania Production (Słupsk) and MAN Truck & BUS (Niepołomice).
Green energy that is supplied to the companies of the Volkswagen Group is obtained from wind farms located in Poland.
“The change that is taking place in the automotive industry, the transition from internal combustion to electric cars, must go hand in hand with the energy transition.” – said Pavel Šolc, president of the management board of Volkswagen Group Polska.
Volkswagen AG was the first car manufacturer to commit itself in 2018 to the goals of the Paris Agreement. By 2050, the Group intends to become a CO2 neutral company. The key to achieving this goal is electric mobility. An important element of the e-offensive is energy from renewable sources, used both during production and operation.
