One and a half million tonnes of waste from TAURON’s mines have been processed in the last three years into full-value products and introduced to the market. The by-products of hard coal mining, which used to be in heaps, are now used in road and hydrotechnical construction for the benefit of the environment.
The mine in Brzeszcze has already become completely waste-free. Aggregates from TAURON’s mines generate profits benefit the natural environment at the same time.
In 2020 alone, TAURON Wydobycie produced 450 thousand tonnes of aggregate, which has been used in road construction, land leveling, auxiliary railways, and above all in hydrotechnical construction for the construction of flood embankments.
TAURON Wydobycie aims to achieve complete elimination of generated post-production waste in all its three mining plants.
