Shell Polska has introduced CO2 offsetting option for customers after emissions from fuel purchased with the Shell Card.
The new optional service will allow customers to make their journeys carbon neutral.
The emission will be calculated by Shell based on the fuel consumption and if the option is chosen the payment will be also automatic.
Shell will do the compensation by purchasing carbon credits generated by international environmental projects, certified by independent auditors.
Shell will also issue a certification about the total annual emission that has been compensated for by the customer.
Shell is one of the international oil and gas companies which have an ambition to have net-zero carbon emission by 2050.
