BNP Paribas Bank Poland launched the AgroEmisja calculator, which allows agricultural producers and farmers to estimate the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from crops and dairy production. The tool was created on the basis of the calculation model of the Cool Farm Alliance scientific and business consortium and will facilitate the reduction of emissions on farms. It is available free of charge on the Agronomist portal. This is the first and only solution of this type in Polish and at the same time another step of BNP Paribas towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The internal mechanism of the AgroEmisja calculator is advanced, but it is completely invisible from the user’s point of view. You only need to provide basic breeding or cultivation data and the emissions are calculated automatically. The tool suggests what information should be prepared in advance, but the calculation can also be interrupted at any time, saved and then returned to it.

Filling out the calculation form takes approx. 15-30 minutes. Finally, in addition to a clear result on the emissions, producers also receives a detailed report, where, among others, total carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from production, value of emissions for individual production elements and cost structure of these emissions.

Bank BNP Paribas provides the AgroEmisja greenhouse gas calculator free of charge. Only registration is needed as a user on the portal www.agronomist.pl , where users can also find other tools, incl. to monitor the prices of agricultural products or search for agricultural real estate.
