Financial Times released its Climate Leaders Europe 2021 list.
It includes the 300 companies from Europe that achieved the biggest reduction on their carbon intensity. between 2014 and 2019. Emissions intensity is defined as tonnes of emissions of CO2-equivalent per €1m of revenue.
The list is based on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions, which occur at all other points in the value chain, are not factored in, as there is no single standard for reporting them.
Altogether 4 companies from the region made it to the list:
- From Austria: BAWAG Group, Verbund, Strabag
- From Slovakia: Slovnské elektrárne
